Manages Self-pay client accounts.
Checks for insurance referral and has patient sign waiver if referral has not been obtained.
Explains financial and collection policies to new patients--provides written guidelines to each patient Ensures all patient paperwork is complete before patient is seen--puts the chart up for the clinical staff Summarized other duties include printing, cleaning, answering phones, collecting and relaying information to appropriate areas in the practice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Operate telephone switchboard to answer, screen, or forward calls, providing information, taking messages, or scheduling appointments.
Perform administrative support tasks, such as proofreading, transcribing handwritten information, or operating calculators or computers to work with pay records, invoices, balance sheets, or other documents.
Hear and resolve complaints from customers or the public.
File and maintain records.
Transmit information or documents to customers, using email, mail, or fax.
Schedule appointments and maintain and update appointment calendars.
Analyze data to determine answers to questions from customers or members of the public.
Provide information about establishment, such as location of departments or offices, employees within the organization, or services provided.
Collect, sort, distribute, or prepare mail, messages, or courier deliveries.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Experience typically gained with an Associate's Degree (or other 2-year degree) Active Learning- Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
Active Listening- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
