Senior Director - Financial Systems & Consolidation

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe successful candidate will be the key leader, responsible for operational and strategic management of the Financial Reporting systems within Thermo Fisher's consolidation portfolio! This position serves as a strategic business partner to the finance and controllership teams, working to deliver solutions that enables the production of close analysis, forecasts, plans and management reporting.
The individual will manage a team that will actively assess user needs and identify solutions that facilitate the controllership and Corporate FP&A teams' objectives using the various Hyperion suite of tools deployed by the company.
The role will provide guidance and participate in the design, evaluation, testing and implementation of report development, system break fixes, and technology enhancements, working closely with the Corporate IT Finance team.
This position also serves as a key project lead partnering and collaborating closely with various business partners on Finance and Accounting oriented initiatives.
The position and team are the go-to system support for the Controllership and Finance end-user community, which numbers 3000.
This role is also responsible for identifying ways to make processes more efficient, offering continuous improvement recommendations and creating and delivering training to the finance teams!Essential Job DutiesProvide strategic and operational guidance to team, covering Finance & Accounting/Controllership financial system needs.
This includes HFM, ESSBase, EPBCS, and FDMEE, and EDMCS, and encompasses a global user community of 3,000 finance and accounting colleagues.
Strategic design, development, and implementation of the overall Finance Systems roadmapProvide leadership and guidance to the Financial Systems team in terms of ticket resolution and prioritization, ensuring that clear communications are provided to our business partners.
Be the primary point of contact for Financial Systems both internally and externallyProvide guidance, support, and execution on all activities around troubleshooting and problem-solvingWork closely with the Corporate IT Finance team on all development, break/fix, enhancement, and technical items, continuing to assist in the further development of that teamOther duties as assignedJob Requirements Expertise with complex integrated financial reporting systems, inclusive of HFM, ESSBase PBCS/EPBCS, DRM/EDMCS, and FDMEE Knowledge of financial consolidation, eliminations, and reporting for monthly and quarter closes Manage a team of seasoned and skilled professionals to ensure optimal productivity and end user support SLA's are met in an efficient and effective manner Key relationship leader on reporting needs for Corporate Tax, Treasury, Legal, Business Development, Internal/External Audit, Corporate FP&A, GBS, Accounting Shared Service centers, and Technical Accounting Established experience in financial operations, financial controls, GAAP accounting, and financial reporting Direct management of governance and finance system compliance in accordance with company policies, standards and SOX requirements Experience delivering global solutions that drive systems and process consistency on an international scale Liaison, mentor and partner with Corporate IT Strong quantitative and analytical skills combined with solid business and financial competence Experience using systems designed to manage issues, changes and testing (e.
