Instructional and Online Audio / Visual TechnicianBentley UniversityJob Description SummaryThe primary objective of the Instructional and Online A/V Specialist is to provide technical support in the ongoing operations of Campus Presentation Technologies, including assisting in project plans, physical installation, and maintaining technology equipment in all university classrooms and conference roomsHe/she will also be responsible for troubleshooting both immediate and non-immediate classroom help calls.
Essential DutiesSupport all presentation technology in Bentley's 70
smart classrooms, array of high-tech specialty labs, and any facility utilizing presentation technology.
Perform field service support and maintenance of all presentation technologies on campus, including equipment installed to support the functions overseen by The Conference Center (TCC).
Triage issues to provide prompt and effective responses.
Perform unscheduled repair and maintenance of equipment.
Maintain and troubleshoot classroom A/V infrastructure including classroom control systems, projectors, sound systems, and microphones.
Support Bentley's digital signage system hardware.
Work with the CPT team to develop training and documentations for the student staff.
Combine solid analytical skills and experience with complementary technical skills in the areas of online and classroom presentation technologies.
Strive to give the highest quality service possible to faculty, students, and staff by demonstrating a track record for excellent client satisfaction as well as minimal downtime of the technology infrastructure.
Research, identify and recommend new technologies and trends in presentation technologies.
Provide workshops and trainings related to classroom and other A/V technologies.
Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GED equivalent.
2 years of related work experience.
Strong technical background in presentation technology, particularly on digital audio processors/mic systems and theirapplications/programming.
Familiarity with network-enabled A/V systems.
Familiarity with A/V control systems like Extron, QSC, or Crestron.
Strong A/V and computer related technical skills.
Dedication to remaining current on new technologies.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong customer service skills including communication, empathy, and patience.
Highly comfortable with using and supporting web conferencing platforms and digital collaboration tools like Zoom, Teams, SMART technologies, and other Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred QualificationsExperience working in support of classroom technologies and in an environment where state-of-the-art presentation technology is used in classroom-type environments as well as in seminar and conference type settings.
Experience supporting faculty and staff in a high-pressure, quick resolution environment.
Industry standard A/V certifications such as CTS, Extron, Crestron, or QSC.
