If you are swift to action, confident to lead, willing to collaborate, and curious about what science can do, then you re our kind of person!What you ll doWe are looking for an Associate Director, Global Project Management to be a core member of the Early Oncology Global Project Team, accountable for providing project management expertise to manage delivery of drug projects from the Lead Optimisation phase through to the completion of proof of concept studies, up to Phase 3 Investment Decision.
You will work with cross-functional project teams to align operational delivery with the project strategy, and ensure each project is managed according to the best practices within AstraZeneca.
Responsibilities:
Strategic AlignmentProvide input into project strategies & vision, ensuring alignment of the strategy with operational deliveryDrive the efficient operation of the project team (including overall plans, priorities and risk management)Cross-functional Team Leadership and DeliveryServe as a core team member and drive efficient operation of early stage project teams including overall plans, priorities, budget and risk managementCreate a shared sense of purpose, inspire and energise others.
May lead elements of the drug project strategy and other initiatives as requiredCoach project teams towards successful issue resolution and decision-makingFocus the team on the right activities at the right timeStrive for creating high performing teamsGovernanceFacilitates team towards preparing for governance interactions (Phase investment decisions, project revisions etc) that enables efficient and effective decision making by senior leadersInfluence and use your network to ensure engagement at all levels prior to key decisionsEntrepreneurshipBe a role model for learning and innovation; seek opportunities to drive positive changeChampion best practice and adapt new project management practices to broader company processesUse business knowledge to drive cross functional and cross-project learningPlanning Monitoring and ControllingEnsure overall team deliverables, budgets, schedules, and performance standards are realistically set, governance agreed and attained, and that the project optimally fulfils all business reporting requirementsEnsure efficient and effective management of project informationDrive continuous improvement in data quality and forecasting while supplying accurate and timely informationRisk management including risk assessment and mitigation planningEducation, Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceEssential for the role:
Bachelor s degree in a scientific or technical drug development subject required3
years of experience supporting cross-functional drug development teams or leading sub-teams Understanding of early drug development processAbility to manage high performing teams, and establishing effective team operationsAbility to adapt and navigate a changing business environment while delivering on project goalsAbility to work collaboratively in a matrix environment through open, transparent, proactive communication often with senior leadersExpertise with project management tools and processes.
Strong information management skills including use of current IM tools such as SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and OneNoteDesirable for the role:
