Summary:
We are looking for a strong and creative Principal JavaScript engineer with a proven track record of developing and delivering compelling and scalable user experiences. This front-end developer will develop advanced applications using advanced JavaScript, CSS3 & HTML5, working closely with our Java engineers and our user experience group. If you're looking for work that involves complex problem solving, highly visual and interactive customer-facing products, a large user base, Nerf battles, free soda, and a Friday beer cart; then this is the job for you.
In this role you'll:
Collaborate with UX and product owners to define new features.
Create sleek customer-facing, complex, highly-interactive, web applications and services
Treat JavaScript as a first-class citizen, with an emphasis on the good parts and unit testing
Create code that cleanly segregates model, presentation, and business logic.
Design and implement reusable components and plugins
Enforce business logic on the client
Work with the user experience team and product owners to refine product flow and user interaction
Work with our quality engineers to develop and automate tests
Requirements:
B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Self-motivated, creative, and detail oriented
Craftmanship level commitment to quality software
Skilled in advanced JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
Knowledge of Javascript libraries like jQuery, prototype, or underscore
Familiarity with MV frameworks like Backbone.js, Ember, or Angularjs
Experience with Agile methodologies including Scrum or Kanban
Actively experimenting with new technologies
Active in the JavaScript community, contributing to new or existing open source JavaScript projects
Experience with Fixtures, Jasmine, Selenium, Java or Ruby, Coffeescript and node.js
Experience building highly scalable websites and web-based applications and with delivering Software as a Service
Bonus points for:
Knowledge of Maven, jBoss, Apache, Mobile emulators, Linux.
Experience with Karma, Tiles, Protractor
Experience with high-volume consumer or small-business websites
