Reporting to the Director of Quality Engineering, the successful agile Quality Engineering Manager is a subject matter expert in SaaS Front End systems, especially rich JavaScript and AJAX GUI design, development and test stacks, and their frameworks and platforms. This role includes technical leadership across supported agile (Scrum-ban) teams, and managing direct reports embedded within these teams, where they receive daily direction from within these teams. This includes enabling Quality Engineering capability and taking an active sense of ownership of team deliverables and overall success of these teams. This role includes coaching and mentoring for traditional and automated test design, including test plan creation, test coverage, defect management & metrics. The successful candidate will be passionate about quality, able to motivate and mentor agile teams towards quality as a team culture, with a proven background for improving test efficiency and reducing test cycles while increasing test coverage. Additionally, this candidate is a catalyst to continuous improvement in supporting our distributed architecture and continuous delivery vision.

Subject Matter Expert - Specialized technical knowledge to span the teams supported, contributing to strategic and tactical quality concerns, standards to test against, test technique, and test coverage across these teams

Mentor - Drive excellence in traditional test technique and test automation skill, Quality Engineering leadership by example, grow QE technical and leadership bench strength, including the right level of coverage
Coach - Grow strong test leadership through routine guidance, leveraging teaching moments, encourage craftsmanship and excellence in all we do, and be present with quality engineers
Guidance - Engage with embedded teams, foster collaboration, and encourage continuous improvement

Skills and Experience Required:
Minimum of 5 years experience managing Quality Engineers including staffing, performance management, assignments and personal growth
Minimum of 3 years working with SaaS technology as a developer or tester, preferably with Java and/or RoR
Leadership experience in Scrum, Kanban, or other agile methodologies
Led improvements in effective test approaches for Rich Internet Applications and/or interactive design principles
Ability to guide and test planning & scheduling, including test approach, task estimation and assignments
Ability to build and maintain cross-functional working relationships to deliver high quality releases on time

Ability to plan, organize and execute larger software test projects
Proven experience in orchestrating testing activities of uptime deployment release delivery to data center for systems and applications in the SaaS products functional areas
Experience writing test cases with Selenium RC, WebDriver, or similar web GUI test tools
Self-motivated and team oriented, and able to have create a visible presence brand across the organization
Strong analytical, troubleshooting and organizational skills
Excellent attention to detail, written and verbal communications skills and time management skills are essential.
BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or applicable discipline
Skills and Experience Desired:
Experience with planning, designing, and executing tests of RESTful and/or distributed GUI component services
Experience in driving continuous delivery and/or XP continuous test initiatives

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
