Information Systems Security Engineer
Summary:
The Information Systems Security Engineer will report to the Security Officer for a healthcare technology company. The Information Systems Security Engineer will be the primary person responsible for configuring, maintaining and running security systems for a healthcare technology company. Security systems include: Patch Management System, Anti-Virus, Web Filter, Proxy, SIEM (Security Incident Event Manager), Firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems. Also responsible for policy maintenance; education, training, and awareness activities; monitoring compliance with company security policy and applicable laws; and coordinating investigation and reporting of security incidents.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Building, configuring, deploying, and trouble-shooting of security systems according to configuration standards, including Anti-Virus/Malware, Data Encryption/DLP, Web Filter & Proxy, Security Incident Event Manager (SIEM), Firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems
Assist in responses to external audits, penetration tests and vulnerability assessments
Monitor security systems for anomalies and respond to potential security events
Testing of security controls for PCI and other regulations and standards or best practices
Document and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP)
Support building reports for management and audits
Research, evaluate and recommend technology products and services
Works on multiple projects as a project team member and occasionally as a project leader
Any other information security related tasks as directed by management
Security patch process and configuration management on all assets according to requirements
Assist in continuous risk and readiness assessments and ongoing compliance with standards
Qualifications:
4-6 years of IT security experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
3-5 years security operations experience desired
Experience with patch management systems (Shavlik, WSUS, or similar systems)
Security certifications preferred (CISSP, CISA, CISM, GIAC)
Working knowledge of any of the standards or regulations OWASP, PCI, HIPAA, GLBA, SOX, ISO27001, CSA
Working knowledge of ethical hacking or penetration testing
Extensive knowledge of VMware VSphere and CISCO, Linux, and Windows platforms
General knowledge of storage management
Skill to effectively analyze and solve problems
Ability to work independently as well as with a team
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, vendors, clients and public
