Senior QA Automation Engineer/Lead with experience in all aspects of automation testing and leading automation team. General skills include the technical ability to drive the automation test strategy by designing, developing and deploying automated and manual tests by utilizing QA Software tools and frameworks.
MAJOR
Responsibilities:
Must be able to take on leadership responsibilities and influence the direction of the automation effort, its schedule, and prioritization.
Participate in risk assessment and test strategy design, perform analysis of existing automation coverage and approach, define the strategy for future automation development
Identify the components of the system to be automated based on business priority and benefits of automated testing
Build new and/or extend existing test frameworks that allow to perform end-to-end testing in multi-component environments. Work with the test engineers and development team to design and develop a reusable architecture for test automation
Propose and implement test automation solutions and frameworks, commercial and homegrown, by using current technologies to provide extensible automation infrastructures for efficient testing of UI, web services, batch or similar processes
Interpret test plans to understand purpose, priorities, and expectations. Review business requirements and design specifications for understanding the needs of the project. Perform resource estimation for automation projects.
Create and execute automation test plans with an understanding of how to build new coverage into the existing automation test suite
Document and analize test results; communicate issues, impacts, metrics, and mitigation; and lead/participate in testing review meetings
Develop, execute and maintain automation test scripts, utilities, data sets leveraging commercial and/or open source tools
Standardize use of QA tools and processes based on quality assurance standards and best practices; write and review QA documentation
Actively participate in QA related activities (functional, integration, regression manual and automated testing)
ESSENTIAL SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE/
Experience:

years of in-depth work experience in SW Quality Assurance of web based applications with a strong background in building and maintaining comprehensive automated test suites, frameworks and harneses using industry leading tools such as QuickTest Pro/UFT, Selenium; and Web Services testing tools
Previous experience in leading technical projects and automation teams. Ability to work collaboratively with other engineers and have strong influencing and leadership skills
Experience in test management and planning, test effort estimation, task priporitization to meet departmental and organizational goals. Ability to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, ability to analyze test results and metrics, perform root cause failure analysis
Strong background in QA methodologies and best practices
Strong testing experience in high-traffic, data-driven applications including testing multiple backend (relational DB) systems
Working knowledge of SQL. Ability to write SQL queries for data validation and troubleshooting
Experience in SqlServer/.NET technologies/Visual Studio is desired, but not required
Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written). Ability to collaborate effectively with different project teams to achieve QA goals
